RFID Smart Labels

Smart Label Support
Companies with an immediate need to print RFID 'Smart Labels' based on internal, retail, or DOD compliance mandates can quickly start producing and encoding RFID labels and rapidly go right into production. The intuitive Graphical User Interface and supporting documentation combine to accelerate RFID label design even for those with limited knowledge of RFID technology. Users can either create RFID 'Smart Labels' from scratch or convert existing barcode labels.

RFID Reader Features (Premier only)
The Loftware RFID Reader Module (RRM) allows for the reading and writing of passive RFID tags with different brands and models of RFID readers. Read-tag and write-tag requests are made to the RRM from applications that use the Reader Control .NET API. The make and model of the RFID hardware as well as the various EPC tag specifications are transparent to your application. learn more

A typical application would execute on a client system on the network and submit read or write requests to the RRM. The RRM would read from or write to the specified reader and send a response back to the client. The response could include the status of the request, data read from a tag, or data that was written to the tag. A high level architecture diagram is provided below.

  • .NET Reader API provides a common programming language for the readers regardless of the hardware and tags being used. Customers can build applications that suit their needs which can use a variety of equipment from various manufactures. Typical applications that have been built to date center around pallet building and receiving. The same application that uses the .NET Reader API can also use the .NET Control for submitting requests to barcode and smart label printers. learn more
  • RFID Reader Simulator Allows an implementation team to create, test, and troubleshoot their reader solutions without recreating a production environment. Development work can even begin before deciding which RFID reader vendor to use. This could knock weeks or even months of an implementation project. learn more
  • Advanced Tag Filtering Capabilities Supply parameters that define what specific tag data to retrieve from a read operation. Only data that is of interest to your program is returned. learn more
  • Comprehensive Sample Applications As is often the case with APIs, sample programs are the key to success. Four well documented sample programs are provided to help get you started.
  • Extensive Documentation Read the manual on Loftware RFID reader solutions
